Christmas!!

Caveat: I do know that Remy's hair is long and unruly. I also know that he looks like a rag-a-muffin all of you long hair haters...you know who you are. I am trying to wait until he is a year to cut it but with all of the yahoos commenting on how he looks like a girl we will try to cut it this week. I will be sure to post the pictures. :-)

The week started off very exciting for us. First we had to get ready for all of the fun we were going to have during the holidays. Here you see Chappy and Remy helping Shaun rotate the mattress and vacuum the carpets. As you can see, they are better supervisors than they are helpers.

Christmas Eve was very exciting because Remy got to play with his older cousins. He just loves to watch them play and see how cool they are that they can use all of those toys and walk. Imagine the fun they have. It is so funny because Remy just stares at Gabe and Eli like they are by far the coolest kids he has ever met.

After dinner and playing for a while all of the kids as part of family tradition get to open their Christmas ornament for the year from Granny and Grandpa Isbell. All of the kids got one. Remy's was a Florida gator jet skiing in a Santa hat. It is so cute and he is obviously excited. Granny was helping him of course since it is glass.

Next we went home to put Remy to bed so that Santa could come. Here I am helping Remy open his Christmas pajamas. (notice the tree only has decorations on the top half thanks to Remy). I didn't know what size to buy Remy because he is wearing 18 month jammies but they are so big. He is only 11 1/2 months and so I bought him the 12 month jammies for Christmas. Well they fit but sadly enough, he can't eat much when he wears them because they fit like a sausage casing, but they are cute none-the-less.

Here Remy is Christmas morning. He was very excited but he was overwhelmed with all of the presents and unwrapping and toys abound. We only got him two presents but his nice cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents gave him presents as well. Here he is with his giant Gator. (yes, we are trying to brain wash the kid to like gators, and yes we are obsessed).

After being with my family for Christmas eve and Christmas morning we went up to Island park to have another Christmas eve and Christmas morning with Shaun's family. It was fun because Aunt Kymm brought up some costumes for the kids to act out the Christmas story. Remy was baby Jesus. I didn't have a good picture of him during the program so he is being a rebel here. He was so good though during the program; surprisingly, becuase he was wrapped up in a blanket and being held by his cousin. It was so cute because he was just looking up into her eyes and than reached his hand up and felt her face. Dramatic already this boy.
Of course Christmas would not be Christmas without some fiascos. Luckily they were limited to just a few. The worst one was that when we were up at the Westergard's cabin. Shaun and I had just gotten into bed at about 1:30 a.m. and were talking about the day, just then we heard it, poor little Remy had thrown up. I was thinking that it was probably just some spit-up since that is what it usually is but ohhhh no. We turned on a little light and poor Remy, the bed, the blankets, binkis, jammies were just covered in vomit. We had to get him up and basically just give him a bath, strip down the bed and put him in is clothes for the next day. I didn't think about bringing extra jammies because we were only staying one night. Oh well. He seemed fine after that and slept the rest of the night.
All in all we had a wonderful Christmas with both families and really had a fun time with little Remy for his first Christmas. More adventures to follow this week.

Did I mention curly hair?

I love this picture of Remy. I took it after he got out of his bath tonight and I just thought it was so cute. Remy has the curliest hair when it is wet or sweaty. It gets quite unruly if I do not brush it strait so he usually is just rockin a comb over but I do love his curls.
This post is dedicated to another milestone that I have been really dreading for a few months now. Remy is getting quite long hair and needs his first hair cut. I haven't wanted to cut his hair until he had enough for me to save in his little book but it is definately getting time. I even had a dream the other night that he had a long flowing mullet before I even knew it and was so embarrassed. Not that there is anything wrong with a mullet if you prefer that hair do. ;-) He is going to get his first hair cut this week so that his daddy and grandpa will stop harassing me that he looks like a girl.
I am also very excited about Christmas this year because I have a baby. He is almost a year old and has already enjoyed opening the presents under the tree so when he has free reign and not a Mommy running after him I think he will love it.
Today the sweetest thing happened. Remy is quite the little cuddle bug and just has really become quite the little loverboy. I had to teach the lesson in Relief Society and my Sister-in-law was so nice as to watch Remy for me while I was teaching. Once I was done I went and sat down with them and he was so excited to see me he almost jumped into my lap and gave me a big hug and planted a big slobbery kiss right on my lips. I just loved every second of it!!! He is such a sweet boy and loves to give kisses and hugs. He really loves to give his Daddy kisses but I don't get as many as he does. He really is a big Daddy's boy as well. Whenever he sees Shaun or hears his voice he lets out this excited scream. He even starts saying dadadadada when we pull into the garage after work because he knows we are going to go inside and see Daddy. My boy is just getting so big.
Well, that was definately a random blog but I wanted to make sure to get down those cute stories before I forget them.

the latest going-ons

Well it has been entirely to long since I have updated my blog. I was doing so well and than BAM!!! The holidays hit and everything went to heck in a handbasket. So here is our latest news.

Remy still comes to work with me; however, he is becoming quite the little mischief maker. He stays in my office as you have seen on my earlier blog but he is always on the lookout for naughty things he can do. The other day I forgot to shut the bathroom door in my office and my nurse heard Remy crying. She went to make sure he was ok and she didn't see him in the office so she went and looked in the bathroom and there he was.... he had tipped over the garbage and strewn it's contents all over, than he had gone over to the toilet paper and pulled all of the toilet paper off the roll. He had tipped over in his excitement and when Tess walked in he was rolled up in garbage and toilet paper. She was laughing so hard she could hardly help him up. Little naughty pants!!

Chappy is going through a mid-life crisis. I started picking up on this change when he started sucking on Remy's binkis. Than he really started getting aggressive with Remy. He would do his mean growl and bear his teeth at poor little Remy and I was beginning to think we may have to find Chappy a new home. I discussed this with my co-workers and mother and we all came to the same conclusion that Chappy is depressed. He sits at home by himself all day sleeping. Than when I come home at lunch I pretty much just let him outside and than after work we are all so busy getting food ready, Remy in bed that Chappy doesn't get any attention. He even stopped sleeping by me in bed, sure I was sleeping better because some hot little dog wasn't spooning with me all night but I knew that meant he was feeling deprived of the joys of life. I really don't want to get rid of him so I have been taking him to my Mom's house for "Doggy Daycare". He has been so happy lately. He and Jack (Mary's dog) have the best time going outside searching for security breaches and things. I'm so glad he is feeling better, sleeping by me again and not growling at Remy as much.

Remy has gotten another tooth. When I say it that way it sounds like it is something he does all of the time but really, he only has 3 teeth and now another one is showing through. He got his bottom two teeth the same week just as he turned six months. Next he got a top tooth at 9 months and today he got another top middle tooth at almost 11 months. Poor kid still has to eat mush because he can't chew anything.

Other than working and taking care of Remy we haven't been up to a whole lot until this week. Of course everything happens the same week. I have 5 christmas parties this week. two for work, one for church, one for relief society, and one ugly sweater party. I have to make various treats for these parties. Last night I made baklava for today's party. It is one of our favorites in our office so I make it. I seriously ate to much delicious food tonight at my office party. all of the appetizers and baklava, prime rib, and cheesecake that you could ever want. It was wonderful.

That is the update for us. Hopefully sometime this week I will get the Christmas tree up. WIth REmy crawling it may not stay up for long but I have to at least try.
