Hair cuts, mutts, and monsters

Well the day finally came when we decided that Remy's rockin comb-over needed to go. When he got his first hair cut I asked my sister-in-law Colette to leave the top long because I was not quite ready to chop it all off. But I will admit as of late Remy has started to look a whee bit ratty. So I consented and Colette cut it short. It looks sooo cute and he has a funny little mohawk. It just goes along so perfectly with his little attitude.

There has also been quite the change in Chappy and Remy's relationship the last couple of days. Chappy, being the ornery little rascal that he is, usually doesn't want anything to do with Remy. Chappy has found though that Remy has become more useful. He walks around with food in his hands constantly dropping crumbs that Chappy can lick up and most importantly Remy will play with Chappy. Chappy has been getting his stuffed squirrel and bringing it to Remy so that Remy can grab on and they can Tug-o-war. Now, they can't tug to hard but Chappy has been very gentle. It is so cute. Remy will laugh and laugh, then Chappy will lick his face and Remy will roll around laughing. They are going to be good buddies I can just tell.

Today at work was a tough day so we decided that we would go out for family home evening to get a treat. I had some gift certificates to Craigos so we went to get my very favorite binge eating type of dessert. The "Cookie Monster". I know, this picture makes your mouth water. Remy hasn't even tasted it and he was excited to see it come out. Imagine if you will a hot chocolate chip/oatmeal cookie baked in a pizza pan, vanilla ice cream layered on and than whipped cream and chocolate and caramel swirls on top. Yes, it is a bomb of deliciousness!! Shaun and I got one to share but in the end we were bested by it's deliciousness and were unable to finish it. We haven't had one in a while so it was a wonderful delight. Those of you who haven't tried one I highly recommend it.

Valentines Day

I really love long weekends. It is always so nice to be able to know that for 3 whole days you will be able to pretty much just hang around and do whatever you feel like. Well that is the idea anyway, they always tend to be quite busy and I just end up running around doing errands. I had a really busy week at work. Friday was busy with patients and than in the middle of the day I had to go and assist with a c-section. Since it was during the day I had Remy with me and the nurses said that they would watch him while I was gone. I left and was back about 45 minutes later. When I got back the nurses said that Remy had been walking down the hall and around the office. At home Remy will walk 1-2 steps at a time between me and Shaun but that is about it. That little stinker just started walking in the 45 minutes I was gone. It is so cute to watch him though. I just love that little boy.

Friday night we went up to Shaun's family's cabin. It is so pretty and relaxing up there and we just love to hang out and relax. We ate at our favorite Mexican restaurant on the way up and our way home on Saturday. It was really fun. My sister and her hubby and kids also came up this weekend to hang out so we played Rock Band on Saturday night. I know, I know, we are addicted. Sunday we had a wonderful romantic dinner at my parents house with all of the family. It was so delicious, my sister Ashley worked really hard on the food and it was awesome.

Some other funny Remy-isms that I just love: He gets really excited to eat any of his favorite foods (cheese, nutri-grain bars, refried beans and rice) when he sees any of said items he starts going MMmmmm, mmmmm, mmmmmm and reaching out for them. He is so funny. He also gets really excited to see things and he also always says oooooooh, ooooooh. Those are his two favorite things to say. He has started pointing at things. In the car on the way home from the cabin he would point at the dome light. He was getting tired so he was kind of staring and his finger would just keep pointing. He would realize that he was pointing and would grab his hand with his other hand and pull it down. It would keep pointing so he would keep grabbing and pulling it down. it was hilarious. That is him, My nerdy little sweet boy. He also has 8 teeth now. 4 on top and 4 on the bottom teeth.
