Ladies weekends!!!!

I have recently had the opportunity to go on not one, but two ladies weekends!!!! The first was with my family for a special 30th birthday party for my older sister Ashley. We went down to Salt lake, ate wonderful food and went shopping. Ashley informed us that there was a wonderful dance performance going on called "Thriller". I had never heard of it but was excited.
Thriller is a dance performance to all of the Halloween themes like Frankenstein, Jason X, Chucky. It was so awesome. In the picture above you can see one of the dancers. It was really awesome, all of the dancers were so good and creapy. My favorite performances were of course thriller, than frankenstein and also the river dancers that all got gunned down during the performance. It was morbid but funny.
Here we all are at the Little America buffet Sunday morning. It was sooo good. I ate way to much of course but it was worth it. Everything was so delicious.
Here is the view from our room. We were in the tower on the 17th floor in a suite. It was such a fun trip. Can't wait to do it again!!
The next ladies weekend was with Shaun's family. We go on this every year and it is a blast. Here is a pic of us in our matching pajamas that Kymm made for us. She did an awesome job!!
Here is the seamstress showing her skilled hands!! This was a start to all of the relaxing that we were going to be doing.
We than went to Sanctuary day spa at Gateway mall. I had never had a massage before but it was wonderful. I am definately hooked now. It was nice they had lockers for each of us, water and cookies, than they also had all of the showering, lotion stuff that we needed, etc. It was just so relaxing. We all had the 90 minute massages. We also went shopping and ate lots of good food at Spagetti factory and P.F. Chang's. I would like to thank all of the hubby's that watched kids so that could make both of these weekends happen.

Remy's digs

A quick pic of little Remy. I have been very lucky to be able to take Remy to work with me so far. Now that he is mobile he has to be locked in my office which he is actually getting quite used to. He loves to eat puffs and play with his toys. Than he takes naps in the afternoon. Here is a pic of Remy enjoying his day. He is such a sweet boy :-)

Jealousy and Genetics

JEALOUSY

No your eyes don't deceive you, Chappy has really started enjoy sucking on a binky. Gross I know!! I am constantly washing binkys. I don't know if it is jealousy, or Chappy notices when Remy cries I give him his binky but he has become a binky stealer. He will follow Remy around waiting for the second that binky hits the ground to grab it. He doesn't chew on it or anything like that, just makes sure that he gets it in his mouth right and than sits down to enjoy his splendor. Even with this little snag, I am happy to say that Remy and Chappy have recently been playing better together. Chappy is still unsure about Remy but overall they seem to be working things out. Remy likes to crawl after Chappy, then Chappy will follow him around.
GENETICS
This picture is for Grandpa Isbell. Genetics are a funny thing, you wouldn't imagine some things would be passed on but sure enough they are. Grandpa Isbell always rubs his head when he is tired and wouldn't you know it, Remy does to!!
Speaking of GENETICS!!!!! Boys, boys, boys. What am I going to do with Boys!!!

What a helpful boy!!!

Well, just as I expected, I am in for trouble with this little one. So far he really loves to help me around the house. I'm sure you are all thinking, he is only 10 months old, how much could he do? Here are a few examples of how he really helps me around the house.
  • He loves to help me clean his various toys. First I heard him laughing, content but laughing in the living room. I popped my head around the corner to see what on earth could be so funny. Well as one would imagine nothing would be funnier to a baby than to have his binky in his mouth, hold it out for Chappy our dog to lick it and than put it back in his mouth over and over.

  • He loves to help me keep the floor clean. Yesterday morning I got him out of bed and set him down in the living room for a second while I made his bottle. When I went into the living room, not 2 minutes later I pick Remy up and he had found all of the lint that he could on the floor and put it all in his mouth!!! He opened his mouth and it was full of a giant, wet slobbery ball of lint which I had to get out of there.

  • He loves to help me find things that have become lost in my closet. I stepped into the bathroom to brush my teeth and I hear his excited "EEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" sound with his arms flapping at full force. Something he saves for his greatest excitement. He had found a feminine product (unopened of course) and a tv cable to play with.

  • He loves to help me clean up after Chappy. At lunch today we ran home to let Chappy out to go to the bathroom. I set Remy down, let Chappy out into the backyard and came back to find Remy. Chappy had gotten sick and threw up on the carpet while we were gone and Remy was so thoughtful as to try to pick it up for me. It was sooo gross, he was covered in Chappy barf. I almost lost it too, luckily for me I have a lot of experience with body fluids so I made it to get him into the sink to pretty much dunk him in a soapy tub of water.

What a lucky mom I am to have such a helpful boy. Below is a picture of him getting ready to do the happy "EEEEEE!!!" sound.

The peg-leg pirate

Now that Remy is crawling he, like all babies, loves to get into everything he is not meant to. Things that were so off limit before are now all just within reach like outlets, plugs, anything electronic. All of that action wears a boy out.
Here is Remy out on the town. We went with Ivy, Andy, and Mary to Red Robin on friday night to get our favorite Fish Taco's! Poor little boy was tuckered out, he couldn't even make it home. We had one of those round corner booths and he actually fell asleep all stretched out. At least he wasn't doing the one arm table clearing maneuver that he usually does.
Today we went to Granny and Grandpas, there are so many things to do. The picture above really just shows my fear of the amount of trouble that Remy and his Daddy are going to get into. I tell ya, you turn your head for one minute and Remy is bouncing a foot high off the ball laughing like a little rebel, Daddy of course encouraging this type of behavior.

After the ball excitement it was great to chase the many dogs that are running around. Hank is the most likely to lie down to be victimized. Remy loves to pet dogs and since Chappy is like petting a velociraptor, Hank seemed like the ideal target. He loved to pet Hank's soft fur so much that he went in for a full face rub/lick on Hank's side. We barely missed the picture of that
but it was funny.
Once Remy had his fill of Hank fur, he took off for his next venture. My favorite thing about Remy's crawling is that he looks like a peg-legged pirate. He is surprisingly fast for only having crawled for 1 week. He skipped the whole tummy army crawl and went strait to this.

Here comes trouble!!!

Due to popular demand...(yes you Nansoh)

HALLOWEEN FUN!!!

I must admit, I have had this blog for a few months and have never posted on it. My brother-in-law has been telling me I should join the blogger world so here we go.
This week has been quite an exciting time for our little family. It first started with Saturday being Halloween. My family has always been very big into Halloween, in fact my mom used to scare the neighborhood kids with her spooky music and answering the door with a running leaf blower. Oh the good ol' days. Growing up with this love of Halloween has made me very excited about the day when I would have a baby and be able to dress him up in a costume. My sweet hubby and I are big Florida Gator fans, and wanting to keep true to our team I decided that we would have a theme Halloween. Shaun was the football player, I was the cheerleader, Chappy was "Al" the gator mascot and Remy was the football. Chappy and Remy were so cute, although Chappy was not exactly thrilled about being dressed up.

We went to my parents house and had a fun party with theme food. We had green and black cornbread with red honeybutter, graveyard cake, spooky eclairs and orange chicken and broccoli with cheese sauce. It was delicious!!!

The next day little Remster started to crawl. I don't have a picture of that rebel actually crawling, he becomes suddenly camera shy when he is crawling. But this is his "I'm going to get into something naughty" look.

This new crawling of course makes it hard to take Remy to work. He has really been giving the front office ladies a run for their money. Luckily Remy has some wonderful Grandmas and Aunts who love to watch him so that helps out. Hopefully I can find someone to watch him for me while I am at work, I would prefer not to put him in daycare if I can avoid it but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.

The last area of excitement for the week is poor little Chappy. He was getting a little ripe (stinky) and his nails were incredibly long so I took him to the dog wash to get all cleaned up. While I was buying him dog food the little groomer chased me down while holding Chappy like a little baby. She was really sad and was almost crying because she had been trying to "shed" him out and she accidently gave him brush burn. He has been really sad and sick all day so I had to take him to the vet to get some antibiotics. Hopefully he will get feeling better soon.
