The week started off very exciting for us. First we had to get ready for all of the fun we were going to have during the holidays. Here you see Chappy and Remy helping Shaun rotate the mattress and vacuum the carpets. As you can see, they are better supervisors than they are helpers.
Christmas Eve was very exciting because Remy got to play with his older cousins. He just loves to watch them play and see how cool they are that they can use all of those toys and walk. Imagine the fun they have. It is so funny because Remy just stares at Gabe and Eli like they are by far the coolest kids he has ever met.
After dinner and playing for a while all of the kids as part of family tradition get to open their Christmas ornament for the year from Granny and Grandpa Isbell. All of the kids got one. Remy's was a Florida gator jet skiing in a Santa hat. It is so cute and he is obviously excited. Granny was helping him of course since it is glass.
Next we went home to put Remy to bed so that Santa could come. Here I am helping Remy open his Christmas pajamas. (notice the tree only has decorations on the top half thanks to Remy). I didn't know what size to buy Remy because he is wearing 18 month jammies but they are so big. He is only 11 1/2 months and so I bought him the 12 month jammies for Christmas. Well they fit but sadly enough, he can't eat much when he wears them because they fit like a sausage casing, but they are cute none-the-less.
Here Remy is Christmas morning. He was very excited but he was overwhelmed with all of the presents and unwrapping and toys abound. We only got him two presents but his nice cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents gave him presents as well. Here he is with his giant Gator. (yes, we are trying to brain wash the kid to like gators, and yes we are obsessed).
After being with my family for Christmas eve and Christmas morning we went up to Island park to have another Christmas eve and Christmas morning with Shaun's family. It was fun because Aunt Kymm brought up some costumes for the kids to act out the Christmas story. Remy was baby Jesus. I didn't have a good picture of him during the program so he is being a rebel here. He was so good though during the program; surprisingly, becuase he was wrapped up in a blanket and being held by his cousin. It was so cute because he was just looking up into her eyes and than reached his hand up and felt her face. Dramatic already this boy.
Of course Christmas would not be Christmas without some fiascos. Luckily they were limited to just a few. The worst one was that when we were up at the Westergard's cabin. Shaun and I had just gotten into bed at about 1:30 a.m. and were talking about the day, just then we heard it, poor little Remy had thrown up. I was thinking that it was probably just some spit-up since that is what it usually is but ohhhh no. We turned on a little light and poor Remy, the bed, the blankets, binkis, jammies were just covered in vomit. We had to get him up and basically just give him a bath, strip down the bed and put him in is clothes for the next day. I didn't think about bringing extra jammies because we were only staying one night. Oh well. He seemed fine after that and slept the rest of the night.
All in all we had a wonderful Christmas with both families and really had a fun time with little Remy for his first Christmas. More adventures to follow this week.
